The project is part of the 163 km – long North-South Commuter Railway Project (NSCR), of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and Philippine National Railways (PNR) which aims to connect New Clark City (NCC) to Calamba. NSCR is a flagship project of the government’s “Build, Build, Build” infrastructure development program aimed to reducing traffic congestion in Metro Manila and boosting economic growth.

The Malolos-Clark Railway Project (MCRP) is a proposed 52.4 km-long railway to connect Malolos to Clark economic zone and Clark International Airport (CIA) in Central Luzon, Philippines, which include six (6) stations and one (1) depot.

Stations will feature elevators and escalators for easy passenger movement, and automatic fare control systems, including ticket vending machines, gates, fare adjustment machines, data collecting machines, and office booking machines.

The Malolos-Clark Railway Project (MCRP) Contract Packages (N-02) will improve local, national, and international connectivity with the direct link to the international airport at Clark, making it a gateway to Asian destinations.

  • Environment-friendly public transport. All stations to have universal access and intermodal facilities for easy transfer to other modes of public transportation. The project will ease chronic road congestion and spur economic growth in Central Luzon, to serve New Clark City’s estimated future 1.2million population.
  • Travel time cut from 2-3 hours (by bus) to 1 hour (by train), target maximum rail speed of up to 160 km/hour. Blumentritt to Clark daily ridership of 81,000 by year 2022 and 342,000 by the year 2025 (as projected). The project will use cutting-edge technology in constructing an elevated railway to minimize disruption and flood risks in communities.
