Acciona, S.A. is a Spanish multinational conglomerate dedicated to the development and management of infrastructure (construction, water, industrial and services) and renewable energy.
Acciona began operating in the country in 2016 with a contract to design and construct, operate and maintain for a one-year period, the Putatan 2 drinking water plant treating salt water.
Acciona opened its new sales office in the Philippines in Manila in 2019.
Contractor’s Profile (Daelim)
Daelim Industrial Co. Ltd., is a Korean company engages in Engineering Construction and Petrochemical Products base in South Korea, but with operational presence in the UAE, Kuwait, US, Hungary and most of Asia.
Daelim was first engaged in the energy projects in the Philippines, in the field of OIL, GAS, and Power Plant Sector in 1995.
MALOLOS-CLARK RAILWAY PROJECT CONTRACT PACKAGE N-02
Purpose
To ensure that ACCIONA–DAELIM Joint Venture (the “JV”) construct the Malolos Clark Railway Project CP N-02 in an environmentally responsible and sustainable manner.
Principle
The JV believes that businesses are responsible for achieving good environmental practice and operating in sustainable manner. We therefore are committed to pollution prevention, continual improvement in environmental performance and compliance with applicable legal requirements and contractual obligations. This is an integral and fundamental part of our business strategy and operating methods. Not only is this sound commercial sense for all: it is also a matter of delivering on our duty care towards future generations.
OUR AIM
- Comply with legal and other requirements including those from Department of Transport and DENR Environmental Management Bureau.
- Develop an Environmental Management System that meets the requirements of ISO 14001.
- Incorporate environmental responsibility int all business operations by planning environmental protection, developing control plans and procedures (i.e. CEMMP), reviewing and developing policy, setting objectives and targets and reviewing site performance through inspections and auditing.
- Prevent pollution and continually improve our environmental performance.
- Minimize our waste and divert as much as possible from landfill.
- Minimize energy and water usage in our buildings, vehicles and processes in order to conserve supplies and minimize our consumption of natural resources especially where they are non-renewable.
- Apply the principles of continuous improvement and Best Available Technology Not Exceeding Excessive Cost (BATNEEC).
- Deal with any unforeseen emergency situations in a professional manner, reducing the environmental impacts and initiating measures to prevent reoccurrence.
- Promote our objectives and targets and to respond positively to inquiries and suggestions from both inside and outside the company.
- Take reasonable steps to procure products and services that do the least damage to the environment and encourage others to do the same.
- Plan, engineer and construct our projects in a way that is considerate to preserving ecosystem diversity and mitigating human effects
- Construct our projects in a sustainable manner by reducing the ecological impact whilst also addressing regional issues associated with the human, social, environmental and economic impacts.
The JV will exercise a duty of care for our environment by adopting best environmental stewardship, such as the waste minimization philosophies. Our environmental plans and procedures, together with our employee’s awareness programs, will communicate the principles of our Environmental Policy and provide knowledge for our employees to deliver on our environmental commitments. Sharing this knowledge to our goal of continuously improving the environmental awareness to all our contractors, suppliers, local community and the other parties.
The JV will ensure the availability of resources needed to implement this policy and ensure that it remains applicable to the JV activities, effective and relevant through regular review and updates.
Quality Policy Statement
ACCIONA-DAELIM Joint Venture will consistently provide Quality Controlled Services that meet or exceed the requirements.
We will actively pursue ever-improving quality throughout Integrated Quality Management System.
- To establish, implement and maintain well-organized and effective quality system that meets the requirement of the Contract Documents and Quality management system requirements to assure quality during each stage of procurement and construction in order to deliver a quality project to the client.
- To implement by all project personnel, vendors, subcontractors and the supplier, the quality system on all the activities provided under the contract documents.
- To review and monitor the quality system at regular intervals throughout the project period in order to improve the system and detect and correct any defect on the system by taking the necessary corrective action.
- A commitment to comply with the project contractual requirements.
- Establishing standardization through Quality Management System.
- Ensuring the Quality competitiveness through the JV partnership.
- Provide a Framework for establishing and reviewing objectives and targets
